In force

This database is constantly updated. New Acts are usually added to the website within 2 working days of commencement. Changes to legislation in the “Acts” database are usually consolidated within 2 working days of commencement of the amending provision/s, except in busy periods. Busy periods for changes to legislation are early January and early July of each year. The database:
Contains
  • Acts currently in force in WA
  • Imperial Acts (UK) adopted and currently in force in WA
(includes previous versions (where available)).

Does not contain
  • Acts enacted by other Parliaments (such as federal legislation) that may be applicable in WA
  • Treasury Acts, i.e. Appropriation Acts, Loan Acts, Supply Acts, Treasurer's Advance Authorisation Acts
  • Reserves Acts, Road Closure Acts and some Railway Acts.
 

Ceased

This database contains Acts that have been repealed, have expired or otherwise ceased to be in force since 1 January 1996 (where available) and is constantly updated. An Act will usually be included within 2 working days after it ceases to be in force. The database:
Contains
  • Principal (not amending) WA Acts
  • Imperial Acts (UK) adopted in WA
(includes previous versions (where available)).

Does not contain
  • Treasury Acts, i.e. Appropriation Acts, Loan Acts, Supply Acts, Treasurer's Advance Authorisation Acts
  • Reserves Acts, Road Closure Acts and some Railway Acts.
 

Acts as passed

This database is constantly updated. The text of an Act will usually be included within 2 working days after the Act receives the Royal Assent. The layout and pagination, in the PDF version, reflect the original document as passed by Parliament. The database contains original text of Acts as passed by the WA Parliament. Earlier years’ documents will be included as they become available. Prior to 2000 Acts are available only in PDF format.
