Material excluded from the Creative Commons licence
The CC licence relates to Licensed Material only and does not apply to other forms of intellectual property, content and copyright protected material. Material that is not available under the CC licence includes:
- Government coat of arms, crests, logos and emblems
- Trade marks
- Intellectual property (including copyright) that is not owned by the State of Western Australia
- material that is no longer protected by copyright, eg Imperial legislation for which copyright has expired by virtue of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (UK), s. 164(2)

Linked material available on other websites
Creative commons licence applies to official printed copies of WA legislation
All official copies of Acts of the State of Western Australia, and all official copies of reprints of Acts and subsidiary legislation of the State of Western Australia, are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).
Official copies are generally those that state that they are printed by the Government Printer or by authority of the Government. They usually bear the imprint of the Government Printer.
Official copies of WA legislation printed after 1 January 2020 bear a statement that they are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).
Official copies printed before that date do not bear that statement, but are still covered by the same licence.
